EMPI has established a permanent facility on an 80-acre site near Austin, Texas to conduct the application development for its currently funded programs as well as contract testing services. Initial capabilities were fully functional in July, 2007 with capability build-out continuing through the year. Capabilities include specialized formulation, mixing and processing equipment as well as testing and data acquisition equipment for explosive and reactive material application development.
